Teen Summit
Each year the girls in our programs are challenged to identify a specific social issue in which they will research, analyze and create a solution.
When researching the topic, students are encouraged to examine problems that directly affect them and ones, that with proper education, can help grow and strengthen their communities. During the annual Teen Summit, students work together to educate peers, parents and other community educators on effective strategies to combat these pressing issues.
In preparation for the summit, girls spend months researching challenging issues and creating realistic solutions that require effective change. This allows them to lead an informed conversation that encourages a much needed dialogue involving community change, self-awareness and healthy relationships with family and friends.
Participation in the Teen Summit will:
The summit includes keynote presentations, interactive workshops, youth and adult panels and culminating entertainment that promotes leadership, self-confidence and teen activism.
Registration for the 2017 summit will open September 2017.
