Finding the Perfect Bra: A new and exciting experience that allows teenage girls to discover their growing bodies, learn about proper coverage and fitting and get the support they need to feel confident and beautiful. Unfortunately, there are many girls who lack the resources needed to purchase the right bra or learn about proper undergarment support.

The Bra Shoppe Experience is an initiative that supports the needs of these teen girls by providing them with new bras and underwear. This effort is in partnership with one of our corporate sponsors, Macy’s, who open their doors to us once a year so that our mentees, along with teen girls from area homeless shelters and group homes, can enjoy a day of education and shopping.

How Does a Day Look in the Bra Shoppe?

The day is filled with excitement, bonding and shopping:

• Once a year, members of our Girl Talk Mentoring Program, along with 50+ teen girls from local shelters, enjoy a day of information and pampering from Macy’s top apparel specialists who discuss the importance of proper undergarment support.
  
  
• Following the information workshop, Macy’s personnel will help the girls with bra fittings to prepare them for their big shopping spree. Mentees are able to fully understand their sizes, the type of undergarments that fit their body, and the proper way to dress for complete support.
  
  
• Next the girls apply what they learned in the workshops and fittings as they are allowed to browse Macy’s lingerie department in search of the perfect bra and underwear.
  
  
• The day ends with a huge pizza party, allowing the girls to celebrate a successful education and shopping experience.
