In the true spirit of reaching out to our community and giving back to our younger generation of divas, My Girlfriend’s House’s Birthday Club is an outreach program that allows us to throw a huge birthday party every month at a local homeless shelter for the little girls that live there and call it home.

An idea that began at one of our Girl Talk mentoring workshops, the Birthday Club Outreach Program has quickly grown like wildfire.

Each month, My Girlfriend’s House members, friends and our Girl Talk mentees, head out to the homeless shelter (which houses approximately 30 girls between the ages of 6 months to 18 years) to host the huge festivities! The guests of honor are always the young girls with birthdays in that given month, but all the girls in the shelter are then invited to attend the party.

The birthday parties are held on the first Saturday of every month at the shelter, and the birthday girls are treated to an all-out diva fest! Of course we’re decorating the room in our super diva colors (pink and purple), crowning the young ladies as princess divas for the day, and creating an atmosphere of fabulous fun with plenty of sweets and lots of cheers.

To help make these parties a success we need the help of our community. Volunteers are needed to help us buy the room decorations, bake the birthday goodies, bring some snacks, purchase gifts for the birthday girls and join us in the celebration.
