Donate to the Shelter Room Makeover

When Shelly Davis lost her job, she knew life would never be the same. Unable to pay her monthly rent, she was evicted from her apartment and forced to move into a homeless shelter.

For many women, this story is all too familiar. Shelly, along with the nearly 2.5 million homeless women in our country, depend on shelters to give them places to keep warm and to sleep. Unfortunately, many homeless shelters lack the resources and funding that is needed to provide a comfortable, home-like atmosphere to its residents.

The Shelter Room Makeover Party was created to help women like Shelly make their temporary space more pleasant until they can live on their own.

On Saturday, September 5th, 2015, we will bring the Shelter Room Makeover Party to the families of New Endeavors for Women Shelter in NE, DC. This 13-room facility provides long-term shelter to families with children and assists them in developing their independence, sense of self and hope for the future. Our goal with this makeover party, is to transform each of the living spaces to look and feel like nice hotel rooms, complete with paint, pictures, decorative items, personality and lots of toys for the children. We are in need of support to help us get the items we need to decorate the spaces. Please help us provide an oasis of comfort and joy by making a monetary donation to support our Shelter Room Makeover Party.
