Every year through student and volunteer efforts, we select two area shelters to completely renovate and design including purchasing new home décor, painting, hanging wall paper, buying new furniture, and more! With the support of the generous donations from local businesses, social groups, government agencies and individuals that dedicate their time and resources, we are able to improve the lives of homeless women and children, one shelter room at a time. The Bra Shoppe Experience teaches proper undergarment support to young girls by providing a day of bra education to girls living in homeless shelters or group homes in the DC Metropolitan area. This day-long workshop addresses a growing issue that many homeless teen girls face daily: the lack of properly fitting bras and underwear. The Bra Shoppe Experience is specifically designed to support the girls who would otherwise not have an opportunity to get this one of a kind education. You can support us by sponsoring 2 or 3 girls from area shelters to attend this event. On July 30th, we will celebrate six years of empowerment, love and service to at-risk teen girls during our 6 Year Anniversary Celebration. The past six years have been an exciting for our growing nonprofit and what better way to celebrate than with all the amazing individuals who have supported us throughout the years? We’re calling all volunteers, community members, and avid supporters to let your hair down and meet us at the Clubhouse for an evening of networking, food, and a celebration of six years of community service. Our annual Holiday Party is designed to help children living in homeless shelters enjoy the Christmas season. We partner with shelters in DC, Maryland and Virginia to host an exciting event for their young residents, filled with interactive activities, lunch, leadership-building workshops and dance competitions. Our goal for the event is to take the children out of their normal environments and expose them to a worry-free day of fun and excitement. This is a closed event, open only to the shelters we invite. This event will simply provide a little holiday cheer to those living in less fortunate environments. So how can you show your support for this event? You can donate toys to be given as Christmas gifts. You can offer catering, DJ or arts and craft services, or you can make a monetary donation to help us provide food, materials and special guests to empower and entertain our young guests.
